It’s getting hot in Los Angeles. The valleys and inland areas hit the 90s this weekend and it’s only going to get warmer this week.
That’s why I was really happy that my sister and her boyfriend planned a beach day. The ocean helps moderate temperatures, leaving the beaches a great spot to find some reprieve from the heat.
We went to Dockweiler State Beach in Marina Del Rey, CA. We chose that beach as they have fire pits you can use to cook food or enjoy some warmth at night.
I made my way down to the park around 12:30 pm, after picking up some firewood at a local Home Depot. Traffic problems slowed me down so I didn’t get there until nearly 1:30. My sister and her boyfriend went early to claim a spot near a pit. They said all of the pits were taken by 9 am! Luckily they got there early enough to secure a pit.
The day consisted of relaxing, going in the ocean, talking with friends, and eating roasted hot dogs and marshmallows.
The day was a lot of fun. I am looking forward to the next one!
